Illustrative Typographic T-Shirt

This brief was to celebrate this year’s New Zealand Film Festival.  This was created in 2019 - my first year of university. I had created a T-Shirt design that I thought depicted an iconic scene or quote. Three ideas came to mind; Mean Girls, Clueless and White Chicks. The movie I had chosen was ‘White Chicks’. At first I created illustrations for each movie and quote, picking the one I like the most. My color palette was based around the clothing worn by the actors. Mainly pastels. I decided to have Terry’s face color the same as T-Shirt color. There was also a juxtaposition from the harsh positive space on Terry’s face and pastels. I had drawn & vectored his face. I edited the script text and drew “DOWNTOWN” to match the theme.
